How the gutter calculator works
Estimate gutter sections and downspouts from measured eave runs.
Enter the actual product coverage, density, package size or truck capacity when it differs from the starting value. Material composition, moisture, grading and manufacturer specifications can change the order quantity.
Formula used for gutter calculator
The measured quantity stays separate from allowance and whole-unit purchase rounding.

sections = ceiling(adjusted run ÷ stock section length) - Allowance
adjusted quantity = measured quantity × (1 + allowance ÷ 100) - Order rounding
purchase quantity = adjusted quantity rounded up to a purchasable unit

When should I add an allowance?
Add an allowance for expected cuts, breakage, compaction, settlement or handling loss; the appropriate percentage depends on the material and project.
Is the estimated order total a supplier quote?
No. It uses only prices, delivery and tax entered by the user and does not represent live pricing, labor or a supplier offer.
