Privacy policy

Information we collect

We collect quote-request submissions containing name, email address, phone number, postal code, material and calculated quantity, project timing, tool category and other project details entered in the form. We collect email-subscription addresses and, when known, the calculator category and state or ZIP used for segmentation.

After analytics consent, we collect calculator completions, optional quote-CTA views and clicks, calculator slug, category and CTA variant, plus a browser-session identifier, page path, experiment variant, timestamp, referrer URL and referrer classification. The lead-signal events do not include raw estimate amounts or contact details. Servers and service providers may receive cookies or local-storage preferences, IP address, browser and device information, requested URL and security or access-log data.

Why we use information

We use project-request data to record requests and allow MaterialTotals to follow up. Supplier matching is not currently active. We retain saved email addresses so requested updates can be offered when that program is ready, and use category or region fields to tailor those future updates. We use analytics and operational data to measure site usage, distinguish organic-search, AI-assistant, direct and other sessions, improve calculators, prevent abuse and maintain security.

Networx quote referrals

Optional links labeled Networx open Networx's website, where visitors may submit a new project request under Networx's own policies. The link carries our affiliate ID so a qualifying referral can be credited to this site. It contains no calculator inputs, ZIP codes, contact details, or site session identifier. We may receive a referral fee. Networx handles information submitted on its site and contractor matching; existing requests stored on this site are not forwarded through these links.

Sharing and disclosure

Project requests are currently stored in MaterialTotals' first-party Cloudflare database and are not sent or sold to suppliers. Selected calculators offer Networx contractor referrals as described above. Other outbound partner offers, when active, open the identified partner's site, whose own form controls any information submitted there. Partner attribution does not include calculator inputs or contact details. If supplier matching or on-site sharing is introduced, the request form and privacy policy will identify the recipient before information is shared. Cloudflare processes hosting and encrypted database records. When lead-email delivery is configured, Resend processes the request details needed to email the site operator. Data may also be processed by separately configured advertising, affiliate or analytics providers. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention

Form submissions, subscription records, segmentation fields and analytics events are retained for 24 months unless a longer period is required for security, legal compliance or an active dispute. Confirmed unsubscribe records may be retained as a suppression record so an address is not added again without a new request. The 24-month period is a stated legal-review placeholder and must match production deletion procedures.

Cookies and consent

Essential browser storage may preserve security, session and privacy preferences. Microsoft Clarity starts in restricted no-consent mode; analytics and advertising storage remain denied until a visitor accepts nonessential processing. Other optional advertising and affiliate scripts remain blocked. The persistent “Cookie preferences” link in every footer reopens that choice. Rejecting optional processing does not block the free calculators.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to information associated with you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, or withdraw consent for future processing. Email subscribers can use the unsubscribe link in each message. To exercise access, correction, deletion or consent-withdrawal rights, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may verify identity before completing a request.

Quebec residents: Law 25

Residents of Quebec may ask about the existence and use of personal information, obtain access or correction where applicable, and withdraw consent to future collection, use or disclosure, subject to legal exceptions and consequences explained at the time of withdrawal. European visitors: GDPR

Where the GDPR applies, processing may rely on consent, performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and improving the site, or legal obligations. Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, and may complain to a supervisory authority. California residents may have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. Security, children and changes

Reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no storage or transmission method is guaranteed secure. The site is intended for adults planning projects and is not directed to children under 13. Material changes will be reflected by updating the single last-updated date shown above.
